What Should I Expect with Treatment?
The first step to treatment will be to file down the nail. This allows the laser to reach the treatment site fully. You may feel a slight heating sensation throughout the nail as the laser is passed in a circular motion over the nail. The treatment may be extended to the perimeter of the nail to eliminate any fungus that has spread to surrounding areas. The deep heating of the nail bed and surrounding tissue will stimulate the killing of the fungus and allow the nail to return to a healthy state. Treatment will depend on the severity of your condition; however, you will most likely need to come six times at one-month intervals.
